Getting to know Angelique York

I believe in the power of transparency and authenticity in therapy. It's important for you to feel comfortable being your true self, even if it takes time to get there. This journey is about progress, not perfection, and my goal is to support you in getting better each day. Whether it's providing encouragement, accountability, or clarity, I want each session to leave you with something valuable. My decision to establish my private practice was driven by the need to address the barriers that prevent individuals, especially those from similar backgrounds as mine, from seeking therapy. Many felt unseen and unheard in traditional therapy settings, which motivated me to create a space where BIPOC individuals can feel understood and supported. As a Black woman in the mental health field, I am committed to challenging negative stereotypes and promoting mental wellness for communities of color. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of California (License No. 114254) and hold a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California. Throughout my career, I have worked in various areas of social work, from legislative and policy roles to international efforts in combating sex slavery and human trafficking in the Philippines. Each experience has been instrumental in shaping me into the owner and founder of ElevateLife Therapy & Consulting, LCSW, Inc. I may not know what brought you here, but I am grateful that you have arrived. I am excited to join you on the journey towards elevation.
