Angelique Zaks, LCSW, LCADC

Psychotherapist
NJ
I truly believe anyone can benefit from therapy, at any given period of their life. My expertise includes clients who are navigating life transitions, looking for support related to relationships or family, and are in need of outpatient support in maintaining their sobriety from alcohol or drugs. I work well with clients who benefit from structure and goal setting, balanced with a non-judgmental space to share freely, be curious, and explore underlying themes. My other specialties include working with young adults who are working to overcome trauma, social issues, or family strain.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic style is a curated balance of guidance and compassion. I will advocate for you, support you, and celebrate your accomplishments. We may also curiously examine potential challenges or barriers, and how to overcome these, together. I am also a big believer in assigning homework in between sessions, and sending over educational resources, as a way to provide supplemental care. We will practice the hard things in here, so you can be successful out there!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First sessions are so very important. I recognize its not easy to start new, or start over, with a provider. I want to alleviate any stress or discomfort that comes with initiating this process. To begin our work together, I will inquire what brings you to therapy, and what goals you would like to work towards. We will set treatment plan goals, create a personalized meeting schedule, and discuss your progress within each session. We will go at your pace!
