Getting to know Anita Green

Hi there, I'm Anita! My name is Anita, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am excited to share my time with you and grateful that you have selected me to assist you with the challenges you are facing. Together, through our work, we will find resolutions and provide you with the tools to move forward. My approach I use a client-centered approach to therapy. I also incorporate CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), Solution-Focused Therapy, Substance Abuse counseling, EMDR, Active Listening, Crisis Intervention, Client Assessment, Therapeutic Boundaries, Self-Care Practices, and Multicultural Competence. My focus My focus is a collaborative effort to work with you toward success. This is your session, and my goal is to provide you with the tools you need based on your wants and needs. Together, we can make this happen. My communication style I believe in having an open mind. I want you to feel comfortable in every session. Share your thoughts, express your feelings and concerns, and if we try a solution that doesn’t work, I will continue working with you until we find one that does. My journey to mental healthcare I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University in 2014 with a Master’s in Counseling. Soon after, I became disabled and was uncertain if I would pursue the field I had dedicated four years to. However, I passed my National Counseling Exam in 2021 and became fully licensed in January 2024. I currently work as both a substance abuse counselor and a mental health counselor, and I am also pursuing my PhD. It has been a long but rewarding journey, and I am so excited to work in the field I love. My goals for you In our first session, I want to know your best hope—that is where the magic happens. We will collaborate on how to get you to where you need to be.
