Anjette Rostock, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
With six years of practice, I recognize the complexities of engaging in therapy. But, no matter where you are in your mental health journey, I encourage you to come as you are. I've worked with people of all ages and backgrounds in community mental health clinics and nonprofits. I can work with children, adolescents, and adults with varying concerns. I also provide dyadic play therapy for parents who want to strengthen their bond with their little ones (0 - 6). I received my Master's in Child Development from Sarah Lawrence College, and my Master's in Social Work from NYU. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, work-related stress, perinatal and postpartum symptoms, life adjustments, and relational stress.

Getting to know Anjette Rostock

What should a new client know about working with you?

With adults and teenagers, I primarily use a psychodynamic approach to help clients reflect on the patterns and intricacies of their own circumstances. I incorporate other modalities (e.g., CBT & Somatic) as we continue to work together to help provide coping skills. With children, I use play therapy to help children express thoughts and feelings. I value and practice with cultural and LBTQIA+ sensitivity, compassion, and empathy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We can schedule a 15min consultation call to see if I'm the right therapist for you and your unique needs. Our first sessions will be an introduction for us both, so we can reflect on how to best support you. I create a warm and open environment so that you feel comfortable to share the tender parts of your life, but also a space where we can reflect creatively and challenge beliefs that may no longer serve you. With some cries and laughs along the way, I’ll be on your team towards reclaiming your own life!
