Ann Hammond, MSW

Ann Hammond, MSW

Psychotherapist
MI
I was born and raised in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. After finishing graduate school at the University of Denver and receiving my Master’s in Social Work, I returned to Upper Michigan and began providing therapy for a diverse age population, including children, adolescents, adults, and couples, as well as group therapy, starting in 1995. I then moved to Virginia Beach, where I contracted with the Department of Defense, providing family and individual therapy at different Naval Bases. After that time, I returned home and set up a private practice, continuing to provide therapy for individuals, couples, and families in my community until I started working at the VA Medical Center. There, I worked with veterans, caregivers, and their families as a therapist and case manager, both in the hospital and on the home-based team. I am now retired from the VA, although I will continue to use my education and training to hopefully work with you in this forum. You have already taken the first step to healing by exploring this site, and the next step is taking the leap and scheduling an appointment. I hope that my commitment to taking this journey with you and reading a bit about what I may offer will encourage you to give therapy a try.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
