Ann Rivers, LCSW-R

Psychotherapist
NY
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 30 years of experience dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care that helps clients navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience. My approach is rooted in whole-person care, recognizing that our mental and emotional well-being is influenced by physical health and the social and environmental factors that shape everyday life. Using a strengths-based, solution-focused approach, I partner with clients to identify their existing strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and overcome the barriers that may be affecting their mental health. In addition to therapy, I provide care coordination, crisis intervention, and connections to community resources when appropriate, helping clients access the support they need to improve their overall well-being. Together, we work to build resilience, improve emotional health, enhance problem-solving skills, and foster lasting empowerment. I have extensive experience supporting individuals living with chronic health conditions and helping caregivers manage the mental, emotional, physical, and social impact of caring for a loved one with dementia. I also work with individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship and family concerns, substance use issues, stress, and life transitions. My practice integrates evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed care, and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring treatment to each person's unique circumstances and goals. I believe the most effective therapy is collaborative, respectful, and guided by what matters most to you! My goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful, sustainable changes that enhance your mental health and quality of life.
