Getting to know Ann Weaver

It's great to see you. I believe together we can find the best ways for you to get the most out of your life, every day. If you are troubled by problems in your relationships, or not feeling your best emotionally, we can work through this to relieve some of those feelings, I'm an independently licensed social worker in Ohio and Michigan with a Master's Degree in Social Work as well as board certification. My experience of 31 years has included working with people who have lost close people or pets, have health or mental health problems, are caregivers for individuals who have health or mental health problems, Veterans and couples.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm affirming in treatment and really believe in people and doing all I can to help them. Skills I use to help include meditation, as well as more traditional therapy skills such as CBT, brief, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy. In my practice, I like to learn about you before I plan what interventions to use because everyone is unique. Also it's important to know I handlescheduling and billing through Headway, and that new patients will receive a welcome email within 24 hours of booking.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer CBT, Mindfulness based stress reduction, motivational interviewing, Couples Counseling, and Narrative therapy and work with you to determine what will help you most. I know it's hard to seek help. I'm here, to explore what your goals are in an open and safe environment where you can feel comfortable sharing what's most important to you. We get started by talking about what's bothering you and set a road map with some changes you are interested in making then we work on those together. I sometimes offer worksheets or other reading and work between our meetings which are weekly or every other week until we can distance those further apart.
