Getting to know Anna Fife

Previous experience at a psychiatric hospital, an outpatient assessment center, home-based therapy services, employee assistance program, psychologists' private practice and an early education center have provided me with a solid background in diverse counseling settings as well as diverse clientele, presenting issues, and therapeutic modalities. During my internships and first years post-graduate, I primarily focused on working with children, adolescents and family and gained a solid mastery of child-centered play therapy and parenting skills. After my master's program I have worked with adults in a variety of settings including psychiatric hospital and an employee assistance program. I am an Intermediate Somatic Experiencing Practitioner on the way toward the SEP certification from Somatic International. I enjoy assisting others through their life challenges whether it be from life transitions, trauma, mood disorders, grief or self-improvement through an inner journey of self exploration. I fundamentally believe in growth and see that despite the tribulations in life, there is hope and fulfillment. I provide Somatic Experiencing, DBT informed therapy and Ketamine Assisted Therapy (in coordination with Journey Clinical)

What should a new client know about working with you?

I understand, from my own personal journey, that taking the first step towards therapy is a significant step towards creating a life that you find fulfilling. As a compassionate and curious l therapist, I offer you a safe and non-judgmental therapy space to explore and process your emotions and experiences. My education, clinical expertise, and personal growth inform my approach to therapy. As a therapist who is committed to social justice, I am dedicated to working with you to address any social or systemic barriers that may impact your mental health and well-being. My goal is to create a safe and affirming space where clients can process their experiences and work towards greater well-being, without feeling marginalized or invalidated. I look forward to hearing from you, learning your life story and supporting you on your path to healing and growth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In therapy, I work with you in a collaborative manner, starting with an understanding of your concerns. I tailor therapy based on your needs and goals and am particularly passionate about working with childhood trauma, grief, PTSD, perinatal mental health, and emotional regulation. I then help you navigate your journey with various techniques such as skills building, mindfulness meditation, somatic experiencing, problem-solving, and coping strategies. These approaches will be tailored to your unique needs and highlight your inherent strengths and resilience.
