Welcome to the Cozy Couch! I am the co-owner and psychotherapist at Cozy Couch Counseling, PLLC. As our name suggests, I am here to provide a safe and comfortable space to address your needs. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I am passionate about working with couples and individuals presenting with relationship concerns, anxiety, depression, communication issues, and boundary setting, among others. With 10 years of psychotherapy experience with individuals and couples, I use evidence-based tools such as the Gottman Method, CBT, and others to help you feel more in control of your life and relationships and give you the tools to succeed. It is very rewarding to watch my clients strengthen their relationships, resolve conflict, rebuild their relationship after infidelity, and manage their stress and anxiety. My therapeutic style is warm but direct, active, and goal-oriented. I enjoy gently challenging my clients to see the results they are looking for in therapy, balancing exploration with direct feedback. I believe that each client needs something different, so I tailor therapy to the needs and wants of the client.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I tend to be very active and present in the session and like to gently challenge my clients to get the results that they want. This allows the treatment to be focused and goal oriented. However, I balance that with warmth, empathy and a casual conversational style.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The initial sessions are about building rapport and understanding the unique strengths you possess as well as what troubles you, and what you want to get out of therapy. We form a treatment plan and proceed with treatment. I often check in with clients if we are on target and making progress, and evaluate if goals need to changed or added.
