What should a new client know about working with you?

I have 20 years of experience working with teens, adults, families and couples. My specialties are complex trauma, addiction, and interpersonal relationships. My style is relational. It will feel like we're simply having conversations. I will learn about your lived experiences and support you in understanding how unhealthy internalized beliefs can contribute to feeling out of control, isolated, and misunderstood. Growing up in a family where nurture wasn't readily available can lead to feeling easily activated into feelings of shame, fear, and depression. It can lead to addictions of all kinds. My methodology encompasses learning to understand and accept your experiences in order to begin to act from a place of agency and empowerment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My style is extremely relational. No awkward silences, no judgment. We start with understanding your reality and what contributed to it. Then we identify how it shows up in your life in ways that cause shame or suffering. From there, we develop a new way of interpreting what has felt difficult or scary. You will learn how to get through those types of activating experiences while maintaining a feeling of self worth, an improved ability to trust in yourself, and an ability to create and maintain healthy connection.
