What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel uncomfortable at first, and you do not need to have everything figured out before your first appointment. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself and talking openly about what you are experiencing. I take a collaborative and individualized approach to therapy. I will take the time to understand your concerns, your experiences, and what you hope to accomplish through counseling. Together, we will identify goals that feel meaningful to you and work at a pace that feels manageable. I believe therapy is a partnership. You can expect compassion, understanding, and honest feedback, along with practical support as you work through challenges and develop new ways of coping. Most importantly, I want you to know that you do not have to navigate difficult seasons of life alone. Therapy is a space where you can feel heard, gain perspective, and take steps toward positive change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I begin by getting to know you—what brought you to therapy, what you are currently experiencing, and what you hope to gain from counseling. The first few sessions are an opportunity for us to understand your concerns, identify patterns that may be affecting your well-being, and establish goals for therapy. From there, I develop a personalized approach based on your individual needs, strengths, and goals. We work together to better understand your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences while developing practical strategies to help you manage challenges and create meaningful change. Throughout therapy, I regularly check in about your progress and make adjustments as needed. I believe therapy should be collaborative, so your feedback is an important part of the process. My goal is for you to leave therapy with greater self-awareness, confidence, and the tools you need to navigate challenges both during and beyond our work together.

Insurance coverage can vary depending on your specific plan, network, deductible, copay, and coinsurance. When scheduling through Zocdoc, please select your insurance plan and provide your current insurance information. We will review your information and verify benefits when possible. Please bring your insurance card to your first appointment. Even when a plan is listed as accepted, coverage and patient responsibility can vary by individual plan. We recommend contacting your insurance company to confirm your mental health benefits, including your deductible, copay or coinsurance, and whether the provider is considered in-network.
