Getting to know Anna Roosevelt

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a Master's in Social Work from Columbia University, currently working in private practice with over ten years of experience in community health care. I specialize in helping individuals cope with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and other mental health challenges. I believe that everyone has the potential to heal and grow, and I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space where my clients can do just that. I approach therapy from a strengths-based perspective, which means I believe everyone has strengths and resources that can be used to overcome challenges. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I view my clients as the experts on their own lives. My goal is to work with my clients to create a plan tailored to their needs. I am passionate about helping people live their best lives, and I believe therapy can be a powerful tool for change. If you are struggling with a mental health challenge, I encourage you to schedule an appointment.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to psychotherapy is eclectic meaning I utilize a variety of modalities depending on the client need. My techniques are trauma-informed and grounded in evidence-based models of care including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Internal Family System (IFS). I also integrate mind/body techniques based in Somatic Experiencing (SE) and Focusing-Oriented Therapy (FOT). My past experience working in community mental health care within a primary care setting has given me a unique perspective on understanding the individual in the context of their environment & connecting the physical with the emotional to target the root causes of pain and suffering.
