Getting to know Anna Schick

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in Los Angeles, CA. I work with a variety of individuals, couples and families. I received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University in Los Angeles in 2009 and trained at the Antioch Counseling Center providing individual, couples and family therapy to those in need of low fee counseling in the West LA, Venice and Culver City communities. I have extensive experience in the treatment of eating disorders, working as a primary therapist in residential care for adult women and adolescents struggling with eating disorders. I have also treated men and women in intensive outpatient programs throughout West Los Angeles & Santa Monica. Currently, I provide eating disorder assessments and treatment at several drug & alcohol intensive outpatient programs in Beverly Hills in addition to my private practice. Prior to my career as a therapist, I worked for almost ten years in the entertainment industry. I understand the pressures and stress associated with the creative industry and often work with clients in the field on a variety of issues ranging from creative blocks to life-work balance. I also work with clients who struggle with low self-esteem, relationship issues, high sensitivity, trauma and difficult life transitions. I help clients practice healthy ways of asserting themselves and setting boundaries where necessary. I work with clients to address the ways in which their emotional, mental and physical well-being are interconnected. I challenge destructive and isolative behaviors and negative thoughts & belief systems surrounding body, food and weight. I am passionate about exploring where clients feel stuck and how to move through discomfort. I encourage self-care and quieting the mind in what can often be a very busy and frenzied life. I myself practice meditation, yoga, and enjoy hiking and spending time with my pug mix.
