Getting to know Anne Flannery

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) who is committed to providing trauma-informed and anti-oppressive care. Whether you’re still processing trauma from the past, struggling to find meaning in the present, or feeling anxious of where to go next, I will meet you with empathy and encouragement as you discover your inner abilities to forge your path.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use a collaborative and relational approach, leading with curiosity, compassion, and humor. Guided by your unique needs and values, I tailor my approach to meet you where you are, often using aspects of Existentialism, ACT, CBT, Psychodynamic, and mindfulness-based approaches to manage anxiety, PTSD, grief, life transitions, chronic illness, perinatal challenges, and career-related stress. Prior to my work in counseling, I spent 10 years in the corporate realm working at various health-tech startups and have an intimate understanding of burnout and work/life balance challenges. I also have extensive experience working with neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and caregiver communities.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My goal is to provide a collaborative and non-judgmental space where you feel safe, respected, and empowered to explore your inner experiences. Therapy sessions with me are primarily client-led. You have autonomy over what is discussed - recent experiences, past trauma, interpersonal challenges, future goals, etc. However, if you're ever feeling stuck in session, I will revisit our goals for therapy to help provide guidance and direction for our discussion.
