Have you found yourself on an unwanted journey? Maybe thought, "I'm just not cut out for this." If so, please know you are in good company. Some of the most influential figures in history suffered from self-doubt and loneliness. For many, it is overwhelming simply being in the modern world, before we even add the extra burdens (thank you, smartphones!). People of all ages are feeling the effects of this complex and competitive landscape. I applaud you for taking the courageous first step of exploring therapy options. It is my aim to provide you or a loved one with a compass to navigate your unique situation. My approach is client-centered, compassionate, and strengths-based. I will collaborate with you to set meaningful and achievable goals focused on solutions to current challenges. My approach I use a holistic approach to therapy, seeking to understand your life in the context of each respective environment (e.g., home, school, work, community). I will work collaboratively with you to identify past successes, positive attributes, and skills that we will utilize to build solutions. I also maintain cultural sensitivity in my practice, recognizing and respecting cultural differences and seeking to understand how your cultural values and beliefs shape your worldview. In my work with children, I explore the impact of the environment on their behavior and the nature of relationships with different family members, peers, and teachers. I want to hear your child's understanding of the identified challenge, as well as times of exception (when the problem wasn't there), their current coping methods, and assess its effect on self-esteem. Your involvement and collaboration are key to all therapeutic interventions since you are your child's primary source of love, encouragement, and advocacy. My focus I work with individuals of all ages and backgrounds who are facing obstacles to their life satisfaction and well-being.
