Getting to know Anne Rice

I love helping adults and teens navigate life's difficulties by creating a comfortable and safe place to share anything and everything on their mind. I hold a Master's in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and earned my Bachelor's degree from Princeton University, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support my clients effectively.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm a strong believer (and research backs it up) that a good therapeutic relationship is important for successful therapy. That means I will spend a lot of time really getting to know my clients and their interests and sharing some of my own. We will definitely spend time talking about TV shows, movies, music, and all the other things that make us human. I obviously won't share everything about my life, but I find change seems to happen a little more quickly when my clients can relate to me.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I use a lot of mindfulness in my work and encourage clients to be accepting of any thoughts or feelings that pop up. Through acceptance, unhelpful thoughts and feelings tend to dissipate more quickly, and you can get back to focusing on the things you want. I encourage my clients to grab coffee, tea, a snack, a blanket, or whatever makes them feel comfortable during sessions. Music, video games, and the occasional kitten or dog are always welcome.
