Psychotherapist
CT
Hi, I’m Anne. I work with adolescents, adults, and families who want a thoughtful space to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the emotions that can feel difficult to sort through alone. Many of the people who come to therapy with me are capable and insightful but feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, past trauma, or complicated family dynamics. I have a particular passion for working with parent–child relationships and often help families strengthen communication, navigate conflict, and better understand one another. I also enjoy working with adolescents navigating stressful academic environments, including boarding schools and highly demanding educational settings. Students in these spaces often carry intense expectations while adjusting to independence, identity development, and complex social dynamics. Therapy can give them a place to process those pressures while building emotional resilience and confidence. In addition, I work with adults who are navigating the emotional complexities that come with aging and life transitions, including shifting family roles, caring for aging parents, and the mixed feelings that arise as life moves into new stages. I also support individuals living with chronic illness who may be coping with uncertainty, identity changes, and the emotional impact of ongoing health challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and insight-oriented. Together, we explore the patterns shaping your emotional world so you can build greater clarity, resilience, and connection in your relationships. Whether you're navigating family challenges, academic pressure, life transitions, or the emotional impact of chronic health concerns, therapy can offer a space to slow down, reflect, and move forward with greater understanding and steadiness. Many people I work with have spent years trying to handle things on their own. Therapy can offer a space to slow down and gain clarity and self compassion.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often tell me that working with me feels thoughtful, steady, and collaborative. I aim to create a space where you can slow down, reflect honestly, and explore experiences that may feel confusing, overwhelming, or difficult to talk about elsewhere. Our work is both supportive and insight-oriented. We will look at patterns in your relationships, emotions, and life transitions while also focusing on practical ways to navigate challenges more effectively. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel understood and safe enough to look at their experiences with curiosity rather than judgment. Whether you are navigating family dynamics, academic pressure, chronic illness, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you develop greater clarity, resilience, and connection in your life and relationships.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first few sessions focus on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, important life experiences, and what you hope might change through our work together. From there, we begin identifying patterns in emotions, relationships, and stressors that may be contributing to what you’re experiencing. Together, we develop a thoughtful plan for the work ahead, balancing reflection with practical strategies that support change in everyday life. Over time, sessions become a space to explore experiences more deeply, strengthen emotional awareness, and build healthier ways of responding to challenges. The pace and direction of therapy are always collaborative, allowing us to adjust as your needs evolve.
