Getting to know Annemarie Sullivan
I am a licensed professional counselor with six years of experience. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, families, and individuals experiencing anxiety and trauma. I have worked with diverse populations in school settings, crisis intervention services, outpatient care, and an intensive after-school behavior program. My experience includes supporting those who have experienced complex trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disturbances, attention and hyperactivity issues, grief and loss, behavioral difficulties, and relational conflict.
I hold a Master's degree in Community and Trauma Counseling from Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University, as well as a Bachelor's degree from the same institutions. I use a human-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach, incorporating relaxation and self-care skills to help clients heal from trauma and stress. Additionally, I utilize cognitive therapy techniques to address intrusive thoughts that contribute to anxiety and depression.

What should a new client know about working with you?
I ensure that therapy is a safe place for my clients to grow and process thoughts, feelings, hardships, stress, trauma, anxiety, and depression. Trauma and chronic stress can be detrimental to your life and it can be helpful to engage in therapy to process through these hardships and to learn healthy coping skills. I am here to be a partner in this process, as I believe you are the expert of your own journey. I strive to be anti-racist, inclusive, an ally and work to ensure that I am culturally competent. I treat clients as a whole person incorporating and nurturing all facets of your identity, in conjunction with my own awareness of my race. What is your typical process for working with clients?
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
