Getting to know Annette Gardner

Her History Annette was born in Montana yet spent five of her formative years in Argentina. This has given her unique insights and appreciation of clients' cultural differences. She obtained additional life perspective as she raised five children. Annette started her higher education at BYU but put off completing her education until her children were older. She went back to school and obtained her Bachelor's degree at Ashford University. She went on to earn her Master's in Clinical Counseling at Walden University. She was board certified by The National Board for Certified Counselors in October 2016. Her field of interest is helping young children and their caregivers navigate life, despite often difficult challenges. Her Services Annette offers a wide range of counseling services, including individual counseling, play therapy, Parent-Child Care, CBT, and ARC. She tailors these modalities to meet the unique needs of each of her clients.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Annette takes a humanistic approach which includes building positive and genuine therapeutic relationships with clients and their caregivers. She tailors her approach to meet each client's interests and abilities.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session includes discussing the client's experiences during the previous week and reviewing skills they practiced. We discuss current challenges, explore and express associated emotions, and/or learn new coping skills. We will use games, toys and/or art to facilitate the discussion and learning new skills.
