Psychotherapist
169 W 2710 S Cir Ste 203F, Washington, UT
While raising my 5 children, I grew to appreciate their individuality and unique talents. Their resilience in dealing with life's challenges inspired me to pursue a career in mental health therapy. I completed my master's degree in counseling in 2016, just as my youngest also graduated from college. My degree and life experience helped me focus my therapy work on helping children and their families heal from trauma and other mental health issues. These issues include anxiety, grief, ADHD, depression, anger and parent/child conflict. I use a person-centered style of therapy, using play, art and talk therapy. Through creative expression, my clients find safe ways to explore and understand their difficult emotions. They learn skills to cope with the challenges life brings. As a mother, I learned to appreciate the uniqueness of individual learning and coping styles. As such, I work with clients to create their personal therapy goals and treatment plans. I enjoy exploring creative outlets such as art and music. Reading stories of others' experiences always fascinates me. I also enjoy swimming, baking and basic weaving.
