Getting to know Annette Yemat
Hello, my name is Annette. I am a Florida Mental Health Counselor. I speak both Spanish and English fluently. My passion for mental health awareness and advocacy began in my work with the homeless community in South Florida. My academic background includes graduating with my Associate's degree in Psychology at Miami-Dade College in 2013, my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida International University (FIU) in 2015, and obtaining my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from FIU in 2020. I have worked with clients from all walks of life struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD/ADD, Substance Use Disorder, and OCD. I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Behavioral Activation. I enjoy providing psychoeducation to clients and believe that knowledge is a powerful tool to understand our mental health. Fun facts about me—I enjoy going to the beach, spending time with my family, and playing with my Russian blue cat, Bailey. My favorite coping skills are guided imagery and 4-7-8 breathing.
After booking, Tava Health will text and email you a link to complete registration and join your video therapy session. After you complete registration, you’ll be able to log in to Tava to join your session, book additional sessions, and message your therapist. Appointments are for talk therapy over video. This therapist cannot provide medication prescriptions, emotional support animal (ESA) letters, or immigration psychological evaluations.
