Getting to know Annie Hamilton

I believe that we are all capable of healing. My role is to create a trusting space where learning, change, and growth can occur. I specialize in using EMDR to help adults heal from trauma and build a fulfilling future. We’ll work together to explore your own story and make a plan for your healing journey. I have a relaxed and casual style. I love to use humor when appropriate, and I definitely want to see photos of your pets, babies, plants, art, etc. We are here to do really hard work, AND I want to get to know you as a whole person. I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including a college counseling center and a large outpatient primary care clinic. I enjoy working with adults of all ages. I specialize in helping people heal from trauma, improve relationships, and increase understanding of our inner emotions. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Wellesley College and hold Master’s degrees in Social Work and Public Health from Boston University. I’ve lived in Atlanta, San Francisco, and Boston. I currently live in Portland, ME with my wife and cat.
