Getting to know Anthony Vecchiarello

As a therapist, I meet where the client is at. I work to build a positive and safe rapport. I utilize the multi-dimensional approach which focuses on how every aspect of an individual’s life is impacted. From the person to their family, friendships and peers, school and/or work environment, to their community, and what is going on in the world. I have over three years of experience working with children, families, adolescents, and adults. For such children dealing with behavioral issues, ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, intellectual disabilities, etc. I implement a practice of positive reinforcement, play therapy, and redirection. For adolescents struggling with aggressive behaviors, I implement anger management approaches, engage them in sessions by discussing topics of their interests, ad use role-play to assist with their communication skills. For adults, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I use mindfulness as a way to assist in coping with depression, anxiety, and anger. I also explore with clients their current resources, supports, and coping strategies to validate their strengths. The goal is to bring positive change over time. I look forward to working with you.
