What should a new client know about working with you?

Let me first say, I am so glad you are taking the first step into improving your health. This is often the most difficult. I have over 17 years of experience working with Children, Adolescents, & Adults diagnosed with ODD, OCD, ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Severe Mood Disorders, Military/Veteran transitions/reintegration, Stress Management, Tobacco Cessation, Weight Management, Chronic Health/ Disease Management. Growth & healing is an ongoing process. I apply this same principle in my practice & in my own professional development. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I am also a Certified Case Manager, which means I am able to help and assist you with coordinating other healthcare needs you may have to ensure that all of your healthcare providers are working collaboratively to meet your needs. As a Veteran, and spouse of a Retired Combat Veteran I also understand military culture and the challenges that may come with transitions, deployments, re-integrations, and being part of the military community. As Maya Angelou once said, "Be the rainbow in someone's else's clouds". I would like to be that rainbow for you. I believe everyone has a toolbox of resources that they can reach into but at times we may not know which tool to use and when. Let me help you along your health journey to be even better and stronger than you are today.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I like to use an eclectic approach primarily combining Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, some Solution Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology. As the client, it is important that you and your goals are always kept in the center of the work we do. There is no one size fits all when it comes to improving your health. Your health journey will be individualized to meet your unique needs and goals. Through the use of various tools and techniques I will help guide you along your path of resources and skill development. You will feel more empowered and confident that you will achieve the goals you have set and have the outcomes you desire.
