I know how difficult it can be to ask for and accept help. To do so makes us vulnerable, and, while vulnerability is necessary for us to thrive and truly connect with others and ourselves, it doesn’t always feel safe. Because of this, I am intentional with the therapy I provide. I believe in meeting you where you are in your life, no matter what that looks like. I want to provide a compassionate space for you to feel seen and heard. Therapy is not about me telling you what to do but more of a collaborative partnership. I aim to work with you to identify your goals and the steps needed to get there while cultivating safety and holding a non-judgmental approach in our work together. I received my Master's in Social Work (MSW) from Loyola University Chicago. Since then, I have obtained my clinical license and have had many opportunities to stand by clients in various levels of care, such as residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient, as well as several outpatient settings. I have a strong interest in working with eating disorders, borderline personality disorder (BPD), and complex trauma. Additionally, I enjoy working with those experiencing anxiety, depression, attachment concerns, relationship hurdles, life transitions, and substance use concerns.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Further, I am committed to social justice and continually consider how systemic and societal methods of oppression and discrimination disproportionately affect marginalized populations. I am continually committed to my own internal work in recognizing my own attitudes and beliefs to ensure I am providing the most inclusive experience possible. I know that sometimes pieces of us are not embraced by society or people in our lives. However, you are welcome here, not regardless of, not in spite of, but because of your nationality, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, age, ability, gender, or any other identity you hold. Not only are you welcome, but I promise to honor, respect, affirm, and celebrate all of who you are. While I do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach, I do gravitate towards a holistic point of view as well as several modalities, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), narrative therapies, psychodynamic principles, attachment theory, and Inner Family Systems (IFS). I find myself using a more eclectic approach as human beings are complex and I want to be sure I am providing solid clinical support for you as you grow through the healing process. Healing is not linear and living as a human can be messy, confusing, daunting, or scary. However, no matter your circumstances, I assure you that there is hope. No one person is the same as another, and I think this is a beautiful thing! Everyone is unique with their own set of strengths, gifts, and narratives, and I hope to learn about you so that we can make therapy as relatable and helpful as possible. In sum, I am glad that you are here, and I look forward to connecting with you and how I can best meet you where you are in each and every moment.
