Getting to know Anyelina Hernandez De la Rosa

I'm a Latina therapist who loves diversity in general. I work with children and adults from a non-judgmental perspective, applying interventions that will help my clients heal and recover. I utilized the CBT approach, which I combined with a person-centered approach and reality therapy.

What should a new client know about working with you?

If you are struggling with past trauma consequences or you are in an abusive relationship, I can help you. I am also EMDR trained, which allowed me to work with clients who suffer from PTSD, anxiety, and depression. One of the things I love about reality therapy is the authority it gives me to give to my clients. During our sessions, we will work on your goals and help make things happen.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My journey to become a therapist is very unique. It started in my country, the Dominican Republic. By that time, I wanted to be a nurse, and soon I learn that there is no physical health without mental health; that is why I became a counselor. Setting SMART goals and helping the clients to focus on each step is how I am going to help my clients reach their goals. During our first session, we are going to start drawing your healing journey. We are going to work on triggers and how to de-escalate strong emotions between sessions.
