April enjoys working with various populations, including children, teens, adults, and couples. Additionally, she identifies as an ally for the LGBTQ+ community. April began her career as a discharge planner and mental health clinician intern in a county jail and still has a passion for rehabilitation and reunification after incarceration. For the past three years, she has worked with families through family counseling, parent coaching, and high-conflict divorce cases. When she is not working, April enjoys camping with her family or spending a day at the beach. She is a mom of three and a new Mimi. April is married to a United States Army Veteran and has extensive knowledge and experience with military culture. Additionally, she volunteers her time to help improve communities, including serving as a board member of Zero Suicide.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I offer a non-judgemental, safe place for clients to process their daily struggles. I take a gentle approach with challenging clients.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session is an intake assessment in which we will review history for roughly 45-60 minutes. This allows for you and I to collaboratively work together to identify challenges and barriers, as well as create treatment goals. In the next session, we will continue to get to know each other to form a therapeutic relationship.

I utilize two billing companies, so we will start by running an insurance verification so that you are aware of all costs associated with treatment. I am in network with several different insurances, and for those that do not have insurance or opt out of utilizing their insurance, there is a $125.00 fee per session.
