Getting to know April Timms
My name is April Timms. I own a small group practice in Northeast Arkansas. I have been working as a licensed therapist for 13 years. I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock, and I am dually licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor. My best work is in treating depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders with co-occurring addiction disorders related to trauma. I am trained in EMDR and have both basic and advanced training in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy. Trauma and loss underlie so much of mental health disorders and have become increasingly prevalent since the Covid epidemic. As a trauma survivor, every tool and technique I use as a counselor is one I have personally benefited from, and I know that therapy works! I am passionate about helping others heal and create meaningful lives!

April Timms, where do I start? She is passionate about her career. She helped me save my life. I do not know where I would be today without her. I thank God for her every single day. I had a year of true growth and made more progress with her than I had in my 36 years of life, or more than a decade with other providers. She gave me light in the darkest period of my life. She brought me back to life, brought me hope and the ability to believe in myself. Life happens and she’s always been the voice of reason and the person that I seek for my most trusted guidance. I truly care for her as a human and if I ever am asked by anyone struggling I recommend her every single time. I’ve told others after so many attempts to connect with a therapist, she’s the best in NEA in my opinion. Also, on a comedic and factual note, she’s the only one who’s ever been able to reel my adhd rants back into the intended subject or work we’re doing. I could never repay her for all she’s brought into my life.

I have had many of therapists in my life time, but I have never had a therapist like April. She not only listens to my problems and provides feedback but also has many different activities for me to do that help with any situation. April diagnosed me with something that I have been struggling with my entire life, whereas other people shrugged it off. I have overcame and healed from so much in the past year since working with April and I will be forever grateful.

I ham very satisfied. So much I recommend her everyone I know. I am more at peace than I have been in 50 yrs. I still have issues we are alking and doing trauma ptsd on.
Thank God for her. 11 yrs clean and 12 rys sober. Weight loss and trauma is better from chronic illness. 100% the best for me and my family
