Arcelia Emerson, LPC Associate

Psychotherapist
208 McCown St, Montgomery, TX
Hey there, I’m Arcelia Emerson, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by April West, LPC-S. I work with all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck and unsure of how to move forward. I believe we are the sum of our experiences. Our relationships, challenges, losses, and the ways we’ve learned to cope all become pieces of who we are. Counseling gives us a space to become curious about those pieces, understand how they affect us today, and decide what we want to carry forward and what we may be ready to change. My approach is collaborative and individualized. Together, we’ll explore patterns and the connections between your experiences, thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My goal is to help you better understand why you may feel or respond the way you do while developing practical tools and coping skills to help you feel more balanced and confident moving forward. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients understand thought and behavior patterns, manage emotions, cope with stressful situations, and build healthier relationships. Depending on your needs, I may also incorporate mindfulness, breathwork, yoga, and creative or experiential approaches. This work is meaningful to me because I understand counseling from both sides of the room. I’ve been a client too and know how difficult it can feel to share your story. You don’t need to have it all figured out. We’ll start where you are, explore what shaped you, build on your strengths, and work toward meaningful change together.
