Psychotherapist
MA
I am so excited you found my profile! My name is Ari, and I am a psychotherapist specializing in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), a type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy considered the gold standard treatment for OCD, anxiety, and panic disorder. According to research, clients can experience a 25 to 35% reduction in their symptoms within 6 to 12 weeks when attending two sessions a week. This may not be practical for everyone, but clients can still achieve good results with one session a week, especially when they take their homework seriously. ERP is incredibly powerful and offers accelerated results compared to other interventions. I have been a practicing therapist since 2017 and have been trained by some of the leading professionals in the field of OCD treatment. I earned my Master's in Clinical Social Work from Missouri State University and my Bachelor's degree from Missouri Southern State University. I received my ERP training from NOCD over the course of three years and continue to complete at least 30 hours of clinical training every year.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a neurodivergent therapist that enjoys supporting other neurodivergent clients who experince autism and conditions like OCD, anxiety and panic disorder. I have OCD myself and find that my personal insight and experince with multiple familiy members with OCD gives me a unique opportunity to support clients in a judgement free zone full of lots of compassion. I am straight forward, but also a very caring person that empowers you to be a team mate in your treatment. My favorite things about being a therapist is watching the light come back into someone's eye after struggling and feeling like they cannot make a change and realizing they are capeable of so much more than they realized! I have limited availability. I offer early morning appointments Monday from 7:00 am-10:00 am and Tuesday-Friday 7:00 am Central to 9:00 am Central. I look forward to meeting you and learning more about how we can improve your life satisfaction and reach your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The initial session with clients involves an intake assessment to determine a treating diagnosis and gather back ground information and discuss treatment expectations. If a client is being treated for OCD anxiety of panic then the second session is spent completing psychoeducation related to treatment and developing a treatment plan. The third session focuses on developing your personal Fears and Response List that guides Exposure Response Pervention treatment. Deppending on the length of your Fears List we may continue with that into the fourth session or begin exposure work for treatment of OCD, anxiety and panic. If a client is engaging in psychotherapy for support as an autistic person with out a focus on OCD, anxiety or panic then the second session will focus on developing goals and a treatment plan. The third session would be collaborative work focused on the goals the client developed in the second session and found on the treatment plan.
