Are you ready to get out of the valley and step over those mountains to reach your defined success and goals? Are you ready to put in the work so you can press through those situations, obstacles, emotions, behaviors or past experiences that have been a barrier to reaching your destiny? If so, I would love to do life with you to help you restore what has been lost. My name is Arriba Walker, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years of experience working as a Master’s level Community Counselor. I am deeply committed to serving individuals from underserved populations who face barriers to accessing mental health care, and I am passionate about helping reduce the stigma surrounding mental health treatment. I also have a strong passion for empowering clients and supporting them through critical stages of growth and healing. My clinical work is grounded in evidence-based practices and shaped by years of experience supporting individuals with complex emotional, traumatic and life challenges. I specialize in trauma-focused treatment using a Trauma-Informed Care approach. I work with individuals experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, loss, dissociation, and other emotional difficulties that often stem from traumatic experiences, particularly childhood trauma. As a practitioner guided by Christian principles, I offer faith-based counseling for clients who wish to integrate their identified spiritual practice into the therapeutic process. When aligned with the client’s clinical goals, the treatment plan may incorporate spiritual reflection, prayer, and the application of faith principles alongside evidence-based clinical interventions. This integrative approach is strictly client-led, ensuring that faith-based elements are provided in a manner that is consistently respectful, supportive, and nonjudgmental.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My area of focus is on youth ages 9 years to age 18. I also provide services to young adults and adults up to age 50. In regards to my style of therapy, I use Cognitive Therapy based models because I believe in addressing the mind which captures thoughts, visions, images, thinking patterns & decision-making. You will be encouraged to adopt the mindset of being a creator instead of a victim and outcome-focused instead of problem-focused. I will guide you to establish & implement your goals and you will be responsible and accountable for living them out daily. I am also here to remind you that the focus is on "Progress NOT Perfection" as you must give yourself grace to make mistakes, but also learn and grow from them. Learning skills to transform your mind and think differently, will lead to different results spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and behaviorally. I'm here to walk this journey with you for this season of your life. What skills you ask? Together, we can explore the symptoms and causes of identified challenges and develop personalized coping tools to manage them. We will work on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, reframing irrational beliefs, and developing more helpful and realistic thinking styles. We will identify trauma-informed tools such as using a safety plan, self-care plan, using your voice, collaboration skills, and expanding your support system. I understand that dealing with change can be a challenging and possibly an overwhelming experience. It's important to know that you are not alone in this journey. I want you to know that I empathize with your struggles, and I'm here to offer support and guidance.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
