Psychotherapist
OK
Hi! My name is Ashlee Cochran. I am a licensed professional counselor with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northeastern State University, and I have been providing therapy for the past 8 years. In that time, I have developed a passion for serving those who have experienced trauma and/or are struggling with anxiety or relationship issues. Through meaningful conversations, we can walk through hard times toward healing. My approach Understanding that each client is different, my therapeutic approach will meet you where you are, specific to your needs. I utilize evidence-based, trauma-informed, and holistic approaches, offering accessible skills to cope that allow you to feel improvement early in the therapeutic process. My focus My 8 years of counseling have been diverse—contract counseling, community mental health, the school system, and private practice. Throughout these different settings, I have helped many individuals with trauma experiences such as abuse, grief/loss, military service-related issues, relationship challenges, aging, and addiction. Trauma is my specialty, but the skills I employ in trauma work are also incredibly helpful in treating anxiety and depression. My communication style You can come to therapy exactly as you are and be met with acceptance and compassion. There is no need to filter; I want you to be exactly who you are. You will not encounter judgment. My work is very individualized, and I do my best to meet you where you are, tailored to your unique needs. My journey to mental healthcare I have known I wanted to be a helper since I was 7 years old, in Girl Scouts, where I enjoyed helping others. As I grew, my own very personal experiences fueled the fire to help others and become what I needed at times. In becoming a therapist, I learned things that helped me in my own healing journey. I am happy to do this work, help others, and share thought processes and skills in a way that can lead to healing.
