Getting to know Ashleigh Athen
I have over a decade of experience helping clients learn unique ways to manage the challenges associated with depression, anger, grief, trauma, and anxiety. Additionally, I enjoy supporting clients who face challenges related to parenting children with mental health or special needs, co-parenting, foster care, adoption, pregnancy, and postpartum.
I am a Trauma Focused-CBT certified therapist, skilled at identifying trauma's impact and developing strategies to reduce that impact in day-to-day life. I am also a Certified Grief Professional and a board-approved Supervisor for both social workers and counselors in the State of Maryland.
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Maryland and my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
