Getting to know Ashleigh Stateson

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University, specializing in marriage counseling, trauma, and abuse. As divorce rates rise, so does my desire to help struggling marriages; a large part of my approach to marriage counseling is using the Gottman Method. I also work with teenagers and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and a variety of other issues. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Biblical Counseling, based on each client's individual needs and desires. My goal is to help my clients reach their goals! I believe the purpose of therapy is not for clients to depend on therapy, but for therapy to be a tool to aid in the process of healing, reconciliation, and recovery in a healthy time frame, so that clients no longer need therapy. I offer biblical and non-biblical counseling; for both, I am constantly learning. I also continually network with and learn from other therapists in the North Texas area and beyond through meetings, conferences, and virtual trainings. When people ask me how I knew counseling was the career for me, I say, ?when I realized that I could get paid to do what I already love to do.? When I'm not counseling, you can probably find me at a coffee shop, with friends, or doing things with my church. I love Jesus, and He loves you, too!
