Ashley Barad, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I truly believe in the healing that results from having a trusting and nurturing space to explore insights, desires, strengths, and challenges. My practice is anti-oppressive, consent-oriented, and trauma-informed. I am LGBTQIA+ and non-monogamy affirming, and have experience in helping individuals through the coming out process. During sessions, I primarily draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), a non-pathologizing approach to understanding symptoms and processing trauma that offers deeper healing at an attuned pace. As a Level 1 IFS-Trained therapist, I will guide you in caring for the parts of you that are in need of support and help you connect with your inner wisdom, self-compassion, and clarity. I will also use somatic techniques to help you develop a felt sense of how emotions show up in your body, and how you can use this connection towards symptom relief. The search for a therapist can be stressful and tiring, but I encourage you to stay connected to yourself as you get a sense of who might be a good fit - even if it takes a few tries! If my profile resonates with you, please feel free to book an initial session and we can begin to see if we are a good fit. Looking forward to connecting!
