Ashley Barry, LICSW

Psychotherapist
WA
Hi there, I'm Ashley! Hi! I specialize in trauma work with adolescents and adults, offering a safe space to explore and heal at your own pace. I bring authenticity and self-expression into the therapy room, often integrating art therapy and movement to support connection, expression, and growth. My approach I am a person-first therapist, meaning I let you guide the session and trust your intuition. I use science-backed therapy like EMDR, IFS, ACT, and the Gottman method to reach your goals. This means that sessions may not look like traditional therapy. They may be filled with mindfulness, playfulness, connection, and you! My focus My ideal client is someone who is struggling but willing to work with me to heal. All are welcome here! As a clinical social worker, I have experience with women, men, queer people, as well as ages 12 to 99. I have worked with people from every socioeconomic class, and many countries and ethnicities. We all come from different cultures and are unique individuals. I will not always get what it's like to be you, but I am open to learn. My communication style I am an introverted person and may be quiet for the first few sessions, however, I pride myself on being honest, curious, and direct. My journey to mental healthcare I am a naturally curious person and love to hear others' stories and connect on a deeper level. I also have first-hand experience struggling with mental health and am passionate about helping others out of that place of suffering. By becoming a therapist, I am able to do all three. My goals for you In social work, we have a saying, "meet the client where they are at". This means that I won't jump to pathologize you. I work to understand who you are and where you want to go. My job is to help you get there. My first session with you The first session will be dedicated to learning more about you and understanding your goals for therapy, so prepare for a lot of questions!
