“I have been in therapy for 20+ years and have had many incredible therapists, but I have never had someone who understood me so easily or could see right to the core of my issues and get straight to the healing work. She is so human and real. She has helped me make genuine changes within myself — in my nervous system, in my embodied sense of self, and in my life overall — changes I had felt stuck on for years going into therapy with her. I have recommended her to two people in my life, both of whom have also started working with her. Ashley is the real deal.”

What should a new client know about working with you?

I use a relational approach; meaning our relationship is of upmost importance. I explore social/cultural identities to better understand your worldview and lived experiences, incorporate somatic approaches to enhance the mind-body connection, and provide you with mindfulness-based and cognitive restructuring techniques to support you with quieting your inner critic. Additionally, I use a combination of motivational interviewing and harm reduction for substance use treatment, meaning complete abstinence is not a requirement for treatment. My goal is to reduce the negative health, social, and legal consequences of substance use and create a supportive, non-judgmental environment to reach your goals. My hope for you, "I have met myself and I am going to care for her/him/them fiercely" -Glennon Doyle

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session together, I will be completing an intake. This typically requires more structured inquiry and starting to develop goals for our time together. I want to know what has worked in the past, what hasn't and what you envision for our time together. Consider this a get to know you. It is important for you to know I see clients in Colorado and Michigan and work on EST time zone. I welcome all cultural identities, nursing mothers are welcome to nurse freely. Additionally, I am a mother of an imaginative 5 yo, love exploring nature's playground, and value rituals.
