What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a private practice therapist currently conducting all sessions via Zoom for telehealth. During the first session aka the intake session I will likely ask you a lot of questions about your current symptoms that led you to seek help. I also might ask about any relevant background information. I will not push you beyond what you are comfortable with as you are acclimating to treatment. I take a collaborative approach so together we will discuss your treatment goals and form a plan.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Upon scheduling your initial session, I will send you my consents and intake forms. Please let me know any questions or concerns that you have as it is very important that you understand the policies and feel comfortable going into your first session. I primarily practice talk therapy and tend to give agreed upon homework assignments at the end of each session. Psychotherapy is not magic and will require you to show up for your sessions and put the effort in if you want to see change in your life.
