“She is my favorite clinician in a long time. She treats more than your symptoms and trauma stories, she treats the whole you as a person with feelings, thoughts, and emotions. She works with you on both the event or disease that triggered your difficulties, and coping skills that will be with you life long. In my case we are working through the fear of going to the hospital. She genuinely cares about me as a person, and my getting well. Great therapist!”

Getting to know Ashley Ntonga

Life can be challenging and exhausting with everything it throws at us. It can also feel overwhelming and even scary. Taking this first step to acknowledge that you are hurting or struggling and need support is truly courageous. I say courageous because seeking help or counsel is not always easy or encouraged. So, I welcome you with open arms and a listening ear to be the support you are looking for. I am passionate about validating and encouraging you to share your story and emotions while gently challenging the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be holding you back. You may need this support for many reasons-feeling overwhelmed at school, stressed at work or home, conflicts in relationships, turning to substances to cope, life transitions, or simply because you want someone to listen without judgment but with compassion. I have experience working with all age groups and use a mix of CBT, DBT, reality therapy, and motivational interviewing. I hold a MEd in Counselor Education from Wilmington University. This is a space where my goal is for you to experience safety and comfort as you share with me. I will laugh with you, support you through your tears, and be your cheerleader!

What should a new client know about working with you?

After your first session, you can expect to gain someone you enjoy having a conversation with, and possibly have some goals identified for your sessions. You will then work with the therapist through each session to discover and explore new and old realizations. Once our therapeutic relationship has been established for a while, and maybe you do not feel a sense of urgency to accomplish specific therapy goals, we can focus more on checking in with where you are currently and practicing essential therapeutic techniques together.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

When I got to Ashley, my mind was in shambles. I hadn’t been to therapy in about two months. I thought I could handle my issues alone. I couldn’t. Ashley listens and considers my situation. She always presents a solution in a funny way. I love laughing and I’m allowed to be myself with her. That, in itself, is the most satisfying thing with Ashley. She allows me to be me.
she’s one of the best therapist i’ve ever had. i’m grateful to have found her because i think she will help me grow within myself better
