**I do not accept insurance at this time** Ashley Paulsen is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Cortnee Ann Wright. Ashley has her Master's degree in Counseling Education from Sam Houston State University. She has worked in a variety of settings, with much of her past experience focused on domestic violence victims and clients who have undergone trauma. She also works with people struggling with depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. Ashley takes a relational and integrative approach to therapy, assisting clients in connecting their past experiences and understanding how those affect the present. She incorporates polyvagal theory when treating clients with trauma and finds that using motivational interviewing techniques helps people make meaningful changes and inspires hope. Ashley is passionate about developing a strong connection between therapist and client and is hopeful that this connection can be healing throughout each client's therapeutic journey.

Ashley made me feel safe, seen, and understood. She made me feel like she genuinely cared about how I was doing. She’s knowledgeable and offers interventions that feel relevant and helpful. It’s really hard to find a good counselor and Ashley is really it.
