Your child is incredibly bright and endlessly curious?but behind closed doors, they're overwhelmed by their own big feelings. Maybe they crumble over small mistakes, spiral after a tough social interaction, or question their worth when things don't come easily. You've read the books, tried the strategies, and still find yourself walking on eggshells. You're not imagining it?raising a sensitive, high-achieving child is uniquely hard. I help kids who are advanced in some areas and still struggling in others?socially, emotionally, or behaviorally?learn how to manage their inner world with more confidence, calm, and self-trust. I am transitioning out of my work at Valley Children's Hospital to get into private practice and look forward to working with a wide variety of kids! I specialize in "anxiety spectrum" issues like generalized anxiety, social anxiety, OCD, and tics. I have special training and experience in working with "gifted" individuals and neurodivergent children as well. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University, which has equipped me with a strong foundation to support children and families through these challenges.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Imagine smoother mornings, fewer after-school meltdowns, and a home where your child actually feels good about who they are. Therapy can help your child build emotional tools, navigate tricky friendships, and learn how to cope when life doesn’t go perfectly. I use a mix of play therapy and evidence-based approaches. I was trained in CBIT by the University of Utah Tic Lab and offer it locally as well. As a pediatric psychologist, former teacher, and mom of a big-feeling, deep-thinking child myself, I bring both 15 years of clinical expertise and real-world empathy to our work. Weekend and after school spots intermittently available. Let’s help your child thrive—and help you feel less alone. Reach out today for a free consultation.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit. For sessions focusing on "anxiety spectrum" issues I use a mix of play therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy for most children. Play is the language of children! I look forward to integrating "play" with older children, teens, and young adults as well. My sessions are generally 50 minutes and happen once a week in my office. I offer teletherapy for teens and young adults only. The first few sessions are generally focused on diagnostic assessment and "getting to know you." Oftentimes, I sprinkle in therapeutic practices right away! I also offer parent coaching. For persons seeking treatment for tics I offer traditional CBIT programming in an 8-week session package. Of course, if you choose to work on other issues we can modify therapy and you can continue. CBIT sessions have a two hour intake process that can be split up into multiple days. After the intake you will get a full report you can use for an IEP/504 plan if you'd like. After, session are generally around 30 minutes and involve "homework" in between weeks. Studies show up to 80% of children who complete CBIT have some relief from tic symptoms!
