This can be a client who struggles with anxiety, possibly has poor attachment styles, and finds it difficult to maintain meaningful relationships?romantic, platonic, or familial. Their goals would include identifying healthy boundaries and responses, increasing effective communication skills, and examining past and present relationships to recognize patterns and habits. I work with clients through talk therapy to explore family relationships and dynamics, providing empathy to help them understand what they believe are healthy attachments and relationships?and why. I began working with clients using cognitive behavioral therapy and have incorporated compassion-focused therapy. This approach allows clients to be receptive to change. Shame dies when stories are told in safe spaces. My goal is to provide my clients with a safe environment to express their thoughts and feelings free of judgment and condemnation. This creates the opportunity for clients to tell their stories in their own words, fostering attunement between the client and myself, where the first steps toward change can begin. I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California, which informs my compassionate and evidence-based approach to therapy.
