Hello, I'm Ashley. Life can be difficult to navigate at times, especially when going through major life transitions. These things can greatly impact our well-being, especially if we do not have the proper tools to work through them. It can seem impossible to deal with these life stressors and escape from the overwhelming feelings that accompany them. I can help guide your mental health journey and together we can learn how to manage the challenges life throws your way. In 2014, I graduated from Lindenwood University with a Master’s Degree in Counseling. I often incorporate my background in psychology and art, having received a Bachelor’s degree from Truman State University in those areas. Now, as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I have been working in behavioral health in the primary care setting for three years. I primarily work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, PTSD, and chronic pain. Prior to behavioral health, I worked as a school counselor across all grade levels in the public school system. I focus on adolescents, teens, and young adults, utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), and creatively applying coping skills and relaxation techniques to address the mind and body. As a former school counselor, I continue to endorse the value of solution-focused brief therapy and other action-oriented approaches that clients can implement and support positive changes in their treatment plan goals. By changing the way you think or feel, you can feel empowered to enact great change in your life. I vow to work towards developing a trusting relationship in which you feel heard. Together, we can work through whatever challenges life throws your way. If you're ready to take the next step in your mental health journey, I'm here to support you.
