Ashley Rhys, MS, LMFT, earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Valdosta State University in 2011. She continued her education at Valdosta State University, where she obtained a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2013. After graduation, Ashley began working with individuals and families at Peaceway Counseling Services, providing home-based therapy services for adults, children/adolescents, parents and children, along with facilitating group therapy. She also spearheaded the Peaceway Counseling Summer Enrichment Program, which helped keep local teens off the streets of the Valdosta, GA area. In 2017, Ashley took a different therapeutic approach by becoming the Lead Adolescent Therapist at the Greenleaf Center, a behavioral health hospital, where she worked on a 20-bed adolescent unit for two years. In 2019, she became the therapist at Haven's Shelter, a battered women's shelter and rape crisis center, providing individual, family, and group therapy to women, men, and children affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. She has facilitated shelter and community groups for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Ashley has a passion for working with individuals affected by trauma and is currently trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She is pursuing EMDR certification soon. Ashley has been a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Georgia since 2018. In 2020, Ashley founded Positive Mindset Counseling Services, LLC, in Valdosta, where she provides individual, family, and marital/couple teletherapy services. Her therapeutic focus is on counseling persons with mental health issues related to a variety of topics.
