Getting to know Ashley Smith

I have been a clinician in the mental health field since 2018, holding a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University. I have worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and residential units. My experience includes supporting individuals facing anxiety, grief, trauma, depression, domestic violence, and sexual assault. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy to address emotional disturbances and have a particular focus on working with the LGBTQIA+ community. I provide a safe space for my clients to identify their goals, and together we work toward making positive changes in their lives. How do you envision your life? Let's work together to get you there.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style and approach are very person-centered. I do not believe "one size fits all" when it comes to clients. Together we will find what works best for you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first few sessions are to gather background information and build rapport with one another. Then, we move on to developing goals and a treatment plan to follow.

Ashley is a wonderful therapist who is very thorough with her work and has a caring attitude. I feel comfortable speaking with her during our sessions and opening up due to her personable demeanor. I also enjoy being her client because she is flexible with scheduling if I’m unable to see her during our usual times or if I need to adjust an appointment.
