Ashley Wright, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I have a Master of Science degree in School Counseling from Sam Houston State University with a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor Certification. Additionally, I am a member of the National Board for Certified Counselors. My areas of competence include individual and group counseling with a special interest in youth and early adulthood. My education as a counselor began at SHSU in August 2013. As an LPC, I believe that clients have the ability to choose how to resolve their own problems and can make their own decisions with my assistance as a facilitator. I believe that clients are responsible for their own behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. As a counselor, I hope to facilitate for my clients greater self-awareness through their life experiences that lead to increased confidence, self-esteem, independence, mental health, and the capacity to effectively navigate the complex challenges of life. Some clients need only a few counseling sessions to achieve these goals, while others may require more counseling. Life brings us many challenges, and oftentimes we feel depressed, angry, bitter, confused, or even anxious. The beauty of life is that it gives an opportunity to review, reflect, and reform our own stories so we can keep pushing through our adversities. No matter what age, race, creed, or status, healing comes from the support of someone being able to help you take the very first step to recovery. When we are able to take the very first step towards our healing, we find peace, joy, and forgiveness again. It is my passion as a therapist to be the support of hope and pathway that leads to greater resilience and life success for all clients.
