Ashlyn Barrett, LCSWA

Psychotherapist
1428 Aversboro Rd, Ste B, Garner, NC
I work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families navigating a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship difficulties, behavioral concerns, and self-esteem. I have a passion for trauma-informed care and specialize in helping clients understand how past experiences may be influencing their emotions, relationships, and sense of self in the present. Together, we work to better understand these patterns while creating meaningful and lasting change. My work is primarily grounded in attachment-based, existential, and Gestalt approaches, which means I focus on helping clients understand how their relationships, life experiences, and sense of identity shape the way they move through the world. I also incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT) to help clients challenge unhelpful thought patterns and build practical coping skills. My approach is both compassionate and direct. I believe healing happens when people feel genuinely seen and supported, but I also believe growth requires honesty, accountability, and a willingness to step into discomfort. Whether we are processing past experiences, navigating current challenges, or building new skills, my goal is to create a space where clients can develop a deeper self-awareness, strengthen their relationships, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
