Getting to know Ashton Timmons

As a clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University, I use a strength-based and person-centered approach when working with clients. My expertise is treating anxiety, depression, and OCD, and I have experience supporting clients facing many other challenges as well. My clients include adults, families, couples, and children. I personalize each treatment plan and make sure that I am working with the client, not just the diagnosis. My goal is to empower clients on their journey through mental health challenges and other adversities. I am a strong proponent of building a therapeutic alliance with every client I work with-trust and mutual respect between myself and clients are essential. I like to make my sessions lively and come prepared each time we meet. Therapy is hard work, but that doesn't mean it can't be fun as well!

What should a new client know about working with you?

After each session, you can expect to feel accomplished. We will set short and long-term goals together to make sure that progress is continually being made. Depending on what you want to accomplish in treatment, you may leave a session with goals to work on outside of therapy; I don’t like to consider it ‘homework’ but we will work together to ensure that progress continues outside of our sessions.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
