Asia's counseling experience includes working with children, adolescents, and families in a variety of settings and situations. She has counseled individuals with diverse abilities and diagnoses. Asia believes that each client has the potential for change, and her role in the therapeutic relationship is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment where patients can move toward self-actualization. Her theoretical orientation is based on cognitive behavioral, person-centered, motivational interviewing, existentialism, and humanistic approaches. Depending on client needs, she uses a variety of techniques including unconditional positive regard, genuineness, CBT, reality therapy, emotional awareness, psychoeducation, enactments, the Family Centered Treatment (FCT) model, and child-centered play therapy interventions. Asia has extensive training in Family Centered Treatment and obtained her certification in April 2020. She is a member of the NC Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (LCMHC) and has experience conducting comprehensive clinical assessments for new consumers during the intake process. Asia earned her Master's in Professional Counseling from Liberty University.
Asia enjoys spending time with her daughters, family, and friends, as well as being outdoors and going on road trips.
