Getting to know Aspen Jordan-Platow

Welcome to my practice! My therapeutic style is the result of my own experience as a working professional, in finance, emerging technology, non-profits, and the arts. After a career change, and many years of working with high-achieving people who are striving to be the best version of themselves, I've built a mental health practice based on helping people get where they want to go. Some people are looking for concrete change, like curbing unwanted behaviors or moving forward in their careers. Others are seeking more intangible changes like processing traumatic experiences, managing anxiety, or improving personal relationships. No matter what change you're seeking, therapy with me is focusing on taking steps toward being the person you want to become.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy with me is an iterative process with three core components: - Identifying patterns: What patterns show up in your life, internal thoughts, and relationships? When and how did they develop? How are they impacting you? - Embracing process: Therapy is about the process of self-examination and development, not the outcome. When we can release the desire for a specific outcome and a timeline, change can begin. - Practicing change: Change is a habit. We progress and regress many times over before we can master it. Only you can keep yourself accountable, but I am here to support you in this practice. What is your typical process for working with clients?

I start with a 15-minute free consultation to ensure that we are a therapeutic fit. The most important part of therapy is the relationship you have with your therapist. If we mutually determine that we are a good fit, I recommend weekly 50-minute sessions. I'm looking forward to getting to know you!
